Basuki Determined to Beautify Mosques in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama listened a kultum (seven-minute sermon) on the sidelines of Safari Ramadhan at Jami Nurul Iman Mosque, RT 02/RW 01, Kedoya Utara, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, Basuki who attended accompanied by South Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi and Assistant of City Secretary for People's Welfare Section, Fatahillah seem preoccupied listening a kultum from Ustadz Saiful at Jami Nurul Iman Mosque. 

"Hopefully, Mr. Governor's prayer may be granted. I'm praying that this lecture can be continued elsewhere," said Ustadz Syaiful, which was greeted with laughter from Basuki, Tuesday (6/7) night.

Basuki Requests RPU Construction Accelerated

On that occassion, Basuki expressed his desire to beautify the mosque in the capital. One of them is Luar Batang Mosque in Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta.

"Many people slander that I wanted to dismantle Luar Batang Mosque. In fact, we want to tidy up and beautify the mosque and its surrounding areas," he stressed in the front of citizens and mosque caretakers.

He explains the city administration reason to control buildings in Pasar Ikan a few days ago where it is for building a new dike in the city. Considering, the old dike cannot hold tidal wave or rob anymore.

"The new dike will be built as high as 3.8 meters. If it is not built, flood will inundate the Luar Batang Mosque," he expressed.

He went on the say that has set up the flats for the evicted people that affected controlling near the mosque.

"They will get many facilities in the flat. Among them are ride Transjakarta bus for free, get free healthcare and business capital," he disclosed.
